Boris Alexandrovich Amichba was a Soviet and Abkhaz tenor, music educator, musicologist, and translator, born on February 17, 1938, in the village of Guada, Ochamchira District, Abkhaz ASSR. He was recognized as Honored Artist of the Abkhaz ASSR in 1979 and as People's Artist of the Republic of Abkhazia in 2010. Amichba was one of the first opera singers and classical music performers in Abkhazia, making significant contributions to the development of music in the region.
