Boris Almazov, born in 1944 in Leningrad, is a Soviet and Russian bard and writer. He served as the Ataman of the Northwest Separate District of the Union of Cossacks and was one of the founders of the Nevskaya Stanitsa, the first independent Cossack community in Saint Petersburg. Since 1974, he has been a member of the USSR Union of Journalists and joined the USSR Union of Writers in 1980.
