Boris Karapetyan (April 29, 1924 - December 12, 2019) was an Armenian Soviet seismologist. He was born in Pyatigorsk, RSFSR, USSR and became a prominent figure in the field of seismic science in Armenia. In 1966, he earned a Doctorate in Technical Sciences and became a professor in 1971. He was recognized as a corresponding member of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences in 1990 and later as a full member in 1996. Karapetyan contributed significantly to the study of earthquakes and seismic phenomena in the region.
