Boris Nikolayevich Laskorin (June 24, 1915 - February 21, 1997) was a prominent specialist in chemistry and technology of rare, radioactive, colorful, and noble metals. He played a crucial role in the development of the atomic industry in the USSR. A member of the USSR Academy of Sciences since 1976 and of the Russian Academy of Sciences since 1991, he was a professor and doctor of technical sciences. Laskorin authored over 600 inventions and was honored with several awards, including the Lenin Prize and the State Prize of the USSR, and participated in the Chernobyl disaster clean-up.
