Boris Merhaut (January 6, 1924 – 2016) was a Czech Indologist and a prominent figure in the New Age movement in the Czech Republic. He studied psychology, pedagogy, library science, Indology, Hindi, and religious studies. Merhaut worked at the Oriental Institute from 1954 to 1971 until he was forced to leave due to political reasons. He also worked at Health News from 1972 to 1974. After the Velvet Revolution, he became a supporter of New Age concepts and introduced elements of deep ecology, along with esoteric aspects.
