Boris Valdek was an Estonian fencer, fencing coach, and state official of the Estonian SSR. He was born on December 17, 1920, in Novgorod and passed away on September 16, 2014, in Tallinn. Valdek completed his education at Tallinna Reaalkool in 1939 and graduated from Tallinna Polütehniline Instituut in industrial economics in 1955. He began fencing in 1937 and won several championships, including the 1939 Swedish Crown Prince's Silver Foil.
