Borocotó, born Ricardo Lorenzo Rodríguez in Montevideo on January 2, 1902, was a prominent Uruguayan sports journalist, writer, and screenwriter based in Argentina until his death on June 19, 1964, in Buenos Aires. He was noted for his influential opinions on football, especially through the magazine El Gráfico. Borocotó is best known for coining the term "La Máquina" to refer to a famous River Plate team in the 1940s.
