He had a notable career that spanned 17 years in professional basketball in Israel, where he played for Hapoel Galil Elyon and Maccabi Tel Aviv. Leaf achieved recognition by winning the Israeli Basketball Premier League MVP award in the 1989-90 season. Additionally, he was a standout player for the Evansville Purple Aces in college, where he made history as the first All-American in NCAA Division I for the school.
