Brett Gilliland is an American football coach and former player, born on June 2, 1981. He has been the head football coach at the University of West Alabama since 2014. Gilliland played quarterback for the West Alabama Tigers from 2000 to 2003, establishing several school records. He began his coaching career in 2004, serving in various assistant coaching roles at institutions including West Alabama, Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, and Kennesaw State. He was appointed as West Alabama's 21st head coach on December 9, 2013.
