Brian Shul was an American fighter pilot during the Vietnam War, an aerial photographer, and a major in the United States Air Force (USAF). He was seriously injured at the end of the war and given little chance of survival, but he recovered enough to fly the SR-71 Blackbird. He served in the Air Force for twenty years, authored four aviation books, and operated a photography studio in Marysville, California until his death in Reno, Nevada.
