Brigitte Gedon, born Miersch on October 18, 1936, in Königsberg, is a German art historian and biographer. She led the Indien-Institut in Munich from 1999 to 2006. During her youth, she fled East Prussia, later studying art history in Munich. She married Robert Gedon in 1965, who significantly influenced her love of Indian art and culture. After his death, she took over the leadership of the Indien-Institut, contributing to cultural relations in Bavaria. Notable works include a biography of painter Franz von Lenbach and a monograph on sculptor Lorenz Gedon.
