Bryan Calvin Hartnell, born on May 16, 1949, is one of the two surviving victims of the infamous American serial killer known as Zodiac. On September 27, 1969, he was attacked while at Berryessa Lake with his girlfriend, Cecilia Shepard, where they were both stabbed by the armed assailant. Hartnell survived with six stab wounds, but Shepard unfortunately did not. In 2007, he appeared as an extra in the film Zodiac, contributing details about the attack. Currently, he works as a lawyer in Redlands.
