Charles "Buddy" Fornes was an American football player and coach, born on March 23, 1931, and known for his coaching stints at McMurry University from 1966 to 1972 and Tarleton State University from 1973 to 1982. He accumulated a coaching record of 66 wins, 101 losses, and 2 ties in his college football career. Tragically, Fornes was found dead on January 25, 1983, from a gunshot wound, and his death was ruled a suicide.
