Burhanettin Kocamaz was a Turkish politician born in Nacarlı, Tarsus. He served as the mayor of Tarsus from 1994 to 2014 and then as the mayor of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality from 2014 to 2019. He graduated as a chemical engineer from Gazi University in 1977 and worked as a chemistry teacher and engineer. He was affiliated with the Nationalist Movement Party and later joined the Good Party. Kocamaz has three children and is married to Hatice Yılmaz.
