Burton Armus is an American police officer, actor, writer, and television producer born on December 11, 1934. His career began in Hollywood while he served as an NYPD detective, where he worked as a technical advisor on the TV series N.Y.P.D and wrote an episode for it. He later became involved with the Kojak series, both as a technical adviser and writer. After retiring from the police force, he moved to Los Angeles to continue working as a writer and producer until his retirement from that career.
