Busi Cortés was a Mexican filmmaker, screenwriter, documentalist, and teacher, born on June 28, 1950, in Mexico City. She was the first woman to direct a debut feature film at the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC). Cortés created notable films such as 'El secreto de Romelia'. After studying communication at Universidad Iberoamericana, she entered CCC in 1977, where she directed short films like 'Las Buenromero' (1978), 'Un frágil retorno' (1979), and the medium-length film 'Hotel Vila Goerne' (1981).
