Benjamin 'Buzzy' Drootin was a US jazz drummer and bandleader known for his Dixieland jazz contributions. Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, he immigrated to the United States at age five. Drootin began his professional career as a teenager and gained recognition by touring with Jess Stacy's All-Stars. After World War II, he became a house drummer in New York and played in various clubs during the 1950s and 1960s. He collaborated with many jazz legends and formed his own band, Drootin Brothers, later in life.
