C. Edward McVaney was an American entrepreneur and technology executive born on December 29, 1940. He co-founded JD Edwards Corporation in 1977, serving as its CEO, and was instrumental in its growth as an Enterprise Resource Planning company. McVaney was involved in JD Edwards' acquisition by PeopleSoft in 2003, which was later acquired by Oracle in 2005. He later founded and became chairman of Nextworld in 2016. McVaney passed away on June 4, 2020.
