Curtis 'CJ' Harris was an American singer and songwriter from Jasper, Alabama. He gained recognition as a contestant on American Idol's thirteenth season, finishing in sixth place in 2014. He was known for his earthy roots rock style infused with blues and country influences. Before Idol, he self-released an album titled Small Town Boy and worked at a barbecue restaurant. His debut single, 'In Love', was released in 2019. Tragically, CJ Harris passed away from a heart attack on January 15, 2023, at the age of 31.
