Cabu, born Jean Cabut on January 13, 1938, in Paris, was a prominent French cartoonist and caricaturist. He was tragically killed during the Charlie Hebdo shooting on January 7, 2015, alongside several other members of the editorial team. A graduate of the École Estienne, Cabu began publishing his drawings in local newspapers in 1954. He gained fame in the 1960s as a co-founder of the Hara-Kiri magazine and worked on children's television, particularly Récré A2, in the 1970s and 1980s while also contributing political cartoons to Charlie Hebdo and Le Canard enchaîné.
