Calep H. Emphrey Jr. was an accomplished American blues drummer and bandleader, born on May 1, 1949, in Greenville, Mississippi. He began his music journey playing French horn and saxophone before turning to drums with Little Milton's band in the late 1960s. Emphrey gained prominence as a member of B.B. King's band from 1977 to around 2009. He also formed his own band and released an album titled 'Handcuffed to the Blues' in 2010, showcasing his lasting impact on the blues music scene. He passed away on April 25, 2017.
