Callista Louise Gingrich, born Callista Bisek on March 4, 1966, in Whitehall, Wisconsin, is an American diplomat, businesswoman, and author. She served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See from 2017 to 2021 and is the third wife of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Gingrich was nominated by President Donald Trump on May 20, 2017, and took office on December 22, 2017, after presenting her credentials to Pope Francis. She completed her term in January 2021 following the end of Trump's presidency.
