José Enrique Cano Leal, known as Canito, was a Spanish composer, drummer, and singer born in Madrid on October 26, 1959. He formed the band Tos with the Urquijo brothers in the late 1970s. Tragically, Canito died in a car accident on January 3, 1980, shortly after New Year's Eve celebrations. The accident occurred when another vehicle struck his, highlighting the suddenness of his passing. Following his death, the Urquijo brothers reformed the band into Los Secretos. Canito's legacy is commemorated in Spanish music history, marking the beginning of the movida madrileña.
