Cao Qing is a lieutenant general in the People's Liberation Army of China, born on December 9, 1952, in Pingshan County, Hebei. He has served as the deputy commander of the Beijing Military Region since 2015. Prior to this role, from 2007 to 2015, he directed the Central Security Bureau, overseeing the security of high-ranking Chinese leaders. Cao was involved in significant historical events, such as serving as a bodyguard to Marshall Ye Jianying and participating in the 1976 coup against the Gang of Four. He is an alternate member of two Central Committees of the Chinese Communist Party.
