Carl W. Concelman was an American electrical engineer known for developing several coaxial connectors for high-frequency applications. While working at Amphenol Corporation, he invented the C connector around 1942 for connecting coaxial cables. In collaboration with Paul Neill of Bell Laboratories, he invented the BNC connector in the late 1940s, featuring a bayonet mount for coaxial cables. Together with Neill, he further developed the TNC connector in the late 1950s, which uses a threaded connection, allowing it to endure higher vibration loads, suitable for use in vehicles.
