Carl-Eric Björkegren was a Swedish director, art collector, and businessman born on 9 October 1920. He initially enjoyed success in the steel industry at Sandvik AB before moving to finance, where he invested in real estate, stocks, and art. Known as a symbol of the 1980s economic boom, he became one of Sweden's wealthiest individuals and owned a prestigious art collection. However, his fortunes declined in the early 1990s, leading to personal bankruptcy. Björkegren disappeared on 2 June 1994 and was declared dead in absentia on 11 November 2005.
