Carl Støp-Bowitz (Karlo Step-Bovico) was a Norwegian zoologist and Esperantist, serving as president of the Norwegian Esperantist League and the International Scientific Association of Esperantists. He was active in promoting zoological nomenclature and contributed significantly to the fields of zoology and geology. Støp-Bowitz was involved in Esperanto since 1928, played a key role in reviving the ISAE post-World War II, and held leadership positions from 1946 to 1949 and later from 1981 to 1996. He was also a regular speaker at International Summer Universities, and published numerous articles and works on zoological nomenclature.
