Carl Åge Alexander von der Esch, born October 20, 1969, is a Swedish lawyer and former undersecretary of state. He is the son of MP Björn von der Esch and portrait painter Signe von der Esch. He served as a reserve officer in the navy, graduating from the Naval War College in 1990. He was undersecretary from 2010 to 2014, working with infrastructure minister Catharina Elmsäter-Svärd and later in the Ministry of Defence. Previously, he was deputy head of the Moderates' coordination office in the Prime Minister's Office, and he holds municipal trust mandates in Trosa.
