Carlos Alberto Martínez was an Argentine military officer who held the rank of division general. He served as the Secretary of State Intelligence during most of Argentina's National Reorganization Process from January 23, 1978, until 1983. He later returned to intelligence services in 1989 as Director of the Intelligence School. Martínez participated actively in state terrorism during the military government but was only processed for crimes against humanity in 2012 without being convicted. He died under house arrest on April 7, 2013, at the age of 84.
