Carlos Ernesto Cabieses López was a Peruvian lawyer and politician, known for being a co-founder of the political party Acción Popular. He was born on November 12, 1925, in Lima and studied law at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He served as a senator for Lima from 1963 until the military coup in October 1968. After the military government, he was re-elected as a senator in the 1980 elections, serving until 1985. He authored a series of books detailing the political history of Peru in the second half of the 20th century.
