Carmen Cortés, born on December 19, 1957, in Barcelona, is recognized as one of the great Flamenco dancers of the 20th century. Over her lengthy career, she has innovated Flamenco by integrating numerous new elements and developing her unique style, distinct from traditional classifications. Her early dance experiences were influenced by her Andalusian heritage. In addition to numerous solo performances at international festivals, she leads her own company and teaches at the renowned school Amor de Dios in Madrid.
