She became Miss World Netherlands on August 1, 2008, and represented her country at the Miss World pageant in Kiev, where she finished 18th in 2008. However, she lost her title on September 16, 2009, after posing for Playboy, which violated the guidelines of the Miss World organization. Her title was retroactively awarded to Leonie Tuip, the runner-up, as a result of this violation.
