Born on March 3, 1943, in Towyn, North West Wales, she initially studied history at Oxford's Lady Margaret Hall but completed her degree at the Open University after a break. She authored books on notable figures such as sociologist Beatrice Webb and writer Vivienne Eliot. She met playwright Geoffrey Parkinson in 1992 and married him twenty years later. Seymour-Jones passed away on May 23, 2015, at the age of 72.
