Born on January 23, 1957, she was initially Princess Caroline of Monaco from the House of Grimaldi. Since 1999, she has been the second wife of Ernst August, Prince of Hanover. Following her father's death on April 6, 2005, she was the likely successor to her brother, Albert II of Monaco, until the birth of his son on December 10, 2014. She has a younger sister, Stéphanie.
