W. Carter Merbreier was an American television personality and ordained Lutheran minister, best known for creating and co-hosting the children's show, Captain Noah and His Magical Ark from 1967 to 1994. He and his wife Patricia played Captain Noah and Mrs. Noah, respectively. Initially a religious program, it transitioned to a children's format in 1970 and became highly popular in Philadelphia, surpassing other shows. After retiring, they received an award in 2001 and maintained a legacy in local broadcasting until his passing in 2016.
