Casey Converse (Keith Cawthon Converse) was a notable American swimmer and college swimming coach, recognized for his achievements in distance swimming during the 1970s. A member of the 1976 U.S. Olympic Team, he set records for both the mile and 1,000-yard freestyle and later coached the Air Force Academy from 1988 to 2017. His teams achieved remarkable success, including two consecutive NCAA Division II championships for women. A passionate author, he explored the East German doping scandal in swimming. Converse passed away from cancer in 2024.
