She became a member of the Institución Tello Téllez de Meneses on March 15, 1971, as the first woman to join since its establishment in 1949. Known for her precise and modern poetic style, she is regarded as one of the most important female poets from Palencia in the 20th century. She was married to industrial engineer Jesús Hervella García and had a daughter, Casilda Hervella Ordóñez, a renowned professor.
