Castor 'Cass' McCord (1907-1963) was an American jazz musician known for playing the tenor saxophone and clarinet. He began his career in 1924 with Edgar Hayes' Blue Grass Buddies and later played in a student band. Throughout the late 1920s and into the 1930s, he performed with notable figures such as Louis Armstrong and Eubie Blake. McCord briefly moved to France, toured India, and returned to New York, where he worked with various bands until leaving music in 1940 to open a barbershop, which he ran until his death.
