Catherine Kidwell was an American novelist born on January 14, 1921, in Missouri. She began her writing career later in life, earning an MFA in 1977. Her notable work, 'Dear Stranger,' published in 1983, is a semi-autobiographical novel that gained literary recognition as a Literary Guild selection. Kidwell also authored 'The Woman I Am' and provided guidance on writing through her book 'I Couldn't Put It Down.' She taught writing at Southeast Community College and passed away on February 17, 2002, at the age of 81.
