Cathy Townsend, born on June 8, 1937, is a notable Canadian ten-pin bowler. She first gained recognition in 1974 when she became one of the first Canadian women to win gold at the World Bowling American Zone Championships. In 1975, Townsend made history as the first woman from Canada to win the QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. Her contributions to sports were acknowledged with her induction into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1977 and the Canadian Tenpin Federation Hall of Fame in 1994.
