Celia Cuqui Ponce de León was a pioneering Cuban television producer and the founding director of the Teatro Rita Montaner. Born in Havana on December 9, 1916, she played a crucial role in establishing television in Cuba, beginning her career at Unión Radio Televisión as head of programming. Notably, in January 1951, she directed the first live theater piece on television in Ibero-America, becoming its first female producer and director. She passed away on June 4, 2009.
