Cenek J. Vrba, born on April 11, 1947, in Brno, Czechoslovakia, is a distinguished Canadian violinist and former concertmaster of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (1975-2011). Renowned for his exceptional talent and adherence to the Czech string tradition, he began formal music training at eight and achieved notable success, including winning the Beethoven National Violin Competition. After emigrating to Canada in 1968, he continued his musical career playing with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra before his long tenure in Calgary. Additionally, he is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
