Cengiz Kapmaz is a Turkish journalist and author born in Ovacık, Tunceli on April 15, 1973. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in his hometown before studying journalism at Istanbul University. He worked as a reporter and editor at various newspapers and was a columnist for Özgür Gündem. Kapmaz was detained on November 22, 2011, and arrested on November 25, 2011, related to the KCK investigation, and was released in March 2014. He is also the author of the book 'Öcalan'ın İmralı Günleri'.
