Cesáreo Alierta Perela (1909 - 1974) was a businessman, mayor of Zaragoza from 1966 to 1970, and president of Real Zaragoza from 1952 to 1958. He married Juana Izuel Labad and was the father of César Alierta, president of Telefónica, and Mariano Alierta, a politician. He studied at the Santo Tomás school in Zaragoza and oversaw the construction of La Romareda stadium, inaugurated in 1957. Alierta served as mayor until 1970 and died following a heart attack in 1974.
