Chalkie Davies is a Welsh photographer born in Cardiff in May 1955, originally working as an aerospace engineer. He contributed to the magazine NME from 1975 to 1979, focusing primarily on photographing rock musicians. His work has been featured on album covers for artists such as Elvis Costello, Mike Oldfield, and Pete Townshend, as well as the band The Teardrop Explodes. In recognition of his impact on music photography, he received an award from NME in 2014.
