Chandra Bahadur Dangi (November 30, 1939 – September 3, 2015) was a Nepali citizen renowned for being the shortest man in recorded history, measuring 54.6 cm (21.5 inches) tall. He broke the previous record held by Gul Muhammad, who measured 57 cm (1 foot 10 inches). Dangi gained media attention when seen by a wood contractor in his village in Dang District, Nepal. He was officially recognized as the shortest adult person ever in February 2012 and was later included in the Guinness World Records.
