He served in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from the Ramgarh Vidhan Sabha constituency from 2005 to 2019. During his tenure, he was a minister under Raghubar Das's cabinet, overseeing the Water Resources, Drinking Water, and Sanitation portfolios. Choudhary is a member of the Kurmi community and originates from Sandi village in the Chitarpur block of Ramgarh district.
