Charles Aznavour (May 22, 1924 – October 1, 2018) was a French-Armenian songwriter, composer, chansonnier, and actor. Known for his profound influence on modern French chanson, he gained international recognition in 1946 after touring with Édith Piaf. Over his lifetime, he wrote more than 1,000 chansons, primarily focused on themes of love, and recorded over 100 albums in five languages. Aznavour also appeared in over sixty films, notably the 2002 drama 'Ararat.' His concert in Yerevan in 2006 attracted 50,000 fans and highlighted his connection to his Armenian heritage.
