Charles D. Franklin (December 11, 1931 – March 16, 1992) was a Lieutenant General in the United States Army. He served from 1953 and rose through various ranks, participating in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a helicopter pilot and battalion commander. He commanded the artillery of the 9th Infantry Division and served as Chief of Staff and a staff officer in the Army staff. After retiring, he worked on educational equality for minorities and women. Franklin passed away in Fairfax, Virginia and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
