Charles Moss Duke Jr. is an American engineer, retired officer in the U.S. Air Force, test pilot, and former NASA astronaut born on October 3, 1935. He served as the pilot of the lunar module during Apollo 16, becoming the tenth and youngest person to walk on the moon. Duke was selected as part of NASA's Astronaut Group 5 and is known for leaving a photo of his family on the moon's surface.
